Overnight at the Resort in Chitwan.

Day 05: Early in the morning, after tea or coffee; start on an elephant ride or a jungle walk, to view the wildlife in their early repose. This is the best time of the day to see the animals as we silently brush through dewy tall elephant grass (18-20 ft. tall), a habitat for rhinos, tigers and other wild animals. Spend 2-3 hrs. in the jungle, then return to the camp for breakfast. Afternoon jungle activities. Overnight at the Resort in Chitwan.

Day 06: After breakfast, transfer to the park exit point and board the waiting vehicles for the 3 hour drive to Pokhara. Overnight at the hotel in Pokhara.

Day 07: 5 Nights/6 Days Siklis Trek: This short trek follows the path along the foothills of Annapurna north of Pokhara valley. The Royal Trek is so named because Prince Charles and his 90 person entourage had explored this route in early eighties. Starting from Kalikastan ridge, about 25 km from Pokhara the trek passes through beautiful Gurung villages and terraced farmland overlooking magnificent Annapurna range, Machapuchhere [fishtail peak] Langtang Himal etc. and finally end at Begnas Lake which is about 30 km west of Pokhara city.

Outlined Itinerary : Hyanga/Kharpani (1100 mts) 4/5 hours walk. After breakfast we drive to Hyania where our trek begins. We cross the clear waters of the Mardi Khola by a suspension bridge at the settlement of Mardi Pul, and follow the valley to the Gurung village of Kharpani. Overnight at tea house.

Day 08: Kharpani/Chipli (1760 mts) 6 hours walk. We make our way back down the main ridge and then cut down a side ridge to the valley of Seti Khola through patches of rhododendron forest, which in spring, lend a splash of colour to the landscape. Overnight at tea house.

Day 09: Chipli/Siklis (1980 mts.) 6 hours walk. A long day with a steep downhill over the next forested ridge to descend to Chipli and a welcome rest. From here we continue on to Siklis. Like many of the villagers of the region, the inhabitants of Siklis are Gurung, a people of Tibet origin, who lieve from sheep harding and cultivation of maize, wheat, rice and millet. Many ex-Gurkhas army live in the village. From here there are excellent early morning and evening views of Lamjung, Annapurna II and Annapurna III. Overnight at tea house.

Day 10: Siklis/Lamakhet (1580 mts) 7 hours walk After an inital desecent, we climb again to reach the village of tanting (1580 mts). Countouring now, high above the Medi Khola, we pass through several more villages before finally reaching the village of Lamakhet. Overnight at tea house.

Day 11: Lamakhet/Kalikastan (1400 mts) 6/7 hours walk. Today we will make a short trek up to Kalikastan. We climb through the terraced cultivated fields of Kandane, following the steep stone steps, and eventually reaching a level path under the shade of evergreen trees. The path steepens again but the sight behind is incredible, over vast stretches of flat farm land covering the entire Pokhara valley. We will take a short rest in the shade of a huge Banyan tree, close to the scenic village of Archale. Now we head to an ideal spot for our overnight camp at Kalikastan. The view from the camp site is incredible as the peaks of the Annapurnas and the 'fish's tail' of Machhapuchhare are clearly visible from here. Overnight at tea house.

Day 12: Trek to Begnas Lake and drive to Pokhara. We make a short descent to the motor road and follow the track to the village of Begnas here we stop for lunch in an open field. After lunch, we make a short trek along the dirt road, to our bus pick-up point at Begnas where we finally end our trek. A short bus ride brings us to Pokhara to stay overnight. Overnight at Pokhara.
